Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program

The Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program

The Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) is a national program where families, like yours, get healthy food and a lot more. WIC helps improve the health of mothers and children through:

  • Nutrition education
  • Monthly benefits for healthy food
  • Health screenings and referrals
  • Breastfeeding Support

For more information and to see if you are eligible, call (509) 552-4121 or contact us.

WIC Eligibility

Eligibility depends on household size and income. WIC is for:

  • pregnant women
  • new moms
  • breastfeeding moms
  • children under 5 years old.

Foster children under 5 years old and pregnant foster teens are also eligible. Dads, grandparents and other caregivers of children under the age of 5 may also qualify for WIC. If you or your child is on Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Basic Food you may also be eligible for WIC.

Almost half of all babies in Washington participate in the WIC program! WIC is a supplemental program so even if you do not qualify for TANF or SNAP/Basic Food, you may still qualify for WIC. Many working families and military families are eligible for WIC. You may be eligible as soon as you know you are pregnant.
