Blood cannot be manufactured and every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion. A blood transfusion might be needed for things like surgery, childbirth, cancer treatment, or after a traumatic injury.
From checking in to walking out the door, the donation process takes about an hour. The time actually donating blood is just 10-15 minutes.
