Environmental Public Health: Drinking Water

Back to the EPH Main Page

The EPH Drinking Water Program assists owners of private and public water systems with guidance and information to troubleshoot issues with water potability for taste, odor, contaminants, etc. During communicable disease outbreaks, we investigate water sources for possible contamination issues. We also help to ensure that the well site sanitary control areas are not impacted by on-site sewage systems or other sources of potential contamination during development and that clients are directed to the proper sources of information.

At our office, we provide sample bottles from Anatek Labs of Moscow, ID for homeowners or drinking water managers to submit for routine or periodic testing.  At ACHD, we provide the bottles as a service to the public, but we do not endorse any particular lab for testing.  Please ensure that your selected lab is approved and on this list by the Washington State Department of Health before submitting samples for testing.

We also assist with collecting drinking water samples and submit them for testing for real estate or other purposes for a fee.

  • Public water systems in Asotin County are monitored by the Washington State Department of Health. This includes the P.U.D. of Asotin County as well as the City of Asotin Water system.
